Return to Terra Firma

So many people spend their lives looking up at the stars and waiting for a change to come, waiting for a change from up beyond the stars,but they are looking in the wrong direction.

For the forseeable future, humanity will be planet-locked and change will only come from our actions. No god or alien race will make that change for us so we must look to ourselves for the realisation that will bring about the change we long for.

To find our true potential we, as humanity and individuals, must see ourselves for what we are and for what we want to be. We must see the whole of how things are now, and how we want them to be and then find the path that we can take to make the future our own, not how ‘fate’ wants it to be!

We all have the power to find the path, to make the connection between the present and our desiered future then walk it. But if there is no existing path then we must forge our own…

Horizon: Miracle Cure?

This episode of Horizon was about the Human genome, and the advances that will come of it’s sequencing, such as the eradication of Cystic Fibrosis and other genetic diseases.

Watching Horizon has made me realise that we may be living through an era of great scientific discovery that may surpass all future eras of accelerated discovery. It may be that several centuries from now we will look back on the 21^st century and say “that was the century that made us.”
